Visiting Santa

Last night, the boys went to visit Santa here at our grade school. As you can see, the older two loved the experience, but Malachi- not so much! :)

A few days ago, Logan was being mean and locked Zach out of the bathroom. They were racing around the house and just causing an awful ruckus! So, I texted my little brother (not the one that lives with us) and told him what the boys were doing. I called him and pretended it was Santa. He spoke in a lower voice and asked Logan, "Do you have something you need to tell me?" Logan's eyes got wide and he smiled and said, "Uhm . . . Bwady's here!" Then 'Santa' continued to tell Logan he saw him just lock his brother out of the bathroom and run through the house. Logan's jaw dropped. He just stared and was stonefaced. It was hilarious! I think Zach got the hint too since he started being much better since then also.

Last night after the visit with Santa, Shawn was being ornery and threw some snow balls over the boys' heads that landed on the sidewalk in front of them! The boys started to get suspicious and were wondering where it came from. They kept landing and the boys didn't ever catch on that it was Shawn. They just started to assume it was the elves driving the reindeer around town while they waited on Santa to get done visiting. They kept saying, "those naughty elves!" :)

Santa Pictures

(These are some scheduled posts to get me caught up from being offline for so long. I just need to have some time to get stuff caught up!)

I've finally got the Santa pictures uploaded and ready to share. One of the days that Zachary was home sick with me, I reminded him how many days it was until Christmas. He jumped up and down and said, "Oh, my! I'm so excited! I feel like an exclamation point!" And, each morning, he had the next number in line, which was better memory than even I have! Today, I asked him how many days we have left until chaos hits (I used the term "Christmas" with him) and he said, "mom, I really wish you could start remembering for yourself because I've lost track!" It was so cute and cracked me up. He is so teacher-y sometimes and pretty much dishes out what he gets from us! :)

Zachary told Santa that he wanted "trains" and a "train set" for Christmas. I bet he just wants his trains back. A few weeks ago, while Zachary and Logan were up at my parents house visiting for the day, Santa stopped by and picked up all the toys that they had not listened and picked up for themselves during the week! And, most were Thomas toys and trains. He also left a note that Zachary found on his pillow and could read that told him that he was on the naughty list for right now because he couldn't listen and because he was mean to his brother. It did say that he could redeem himself, so Zachary immediately wrote Santa back and told him he was sorry and he'd start being good.

Logan was still scared of Santa last year, so we didn't know what to expect this year. He did quite well though and even told Santa, "You're really not a scary guy!" He wouldn't tell us at all what he was going to tell Santa because it was "secret" but I did overhear him tell Santa with excitement that he wanted presents and that he'd better hurry or he'd be in trouble! Somehow I'm not sure that Santa gets into trouble, but according to Logan, he does.

I thought Malachi would be good and friendly with Santa, but he sure wasn't. The pictures are still cute though, I think!

His wish for Christmas: not to have to see Santa for another year!



Baby news: a friend of ours just found out that she's expecting this fall! YEAH!!! She has 2 kids, both of which had some health issues when they were first born and required a lot of dangerous surgeries and time down in KC. So, please keep her in your prayers that hopefully this baby will be healthy and not require the amount of medical care that the first two did.

A new baby for my cousin- Thomas Corrin Pacey- he was born yesterday evening and is healthy, thank goodness. My uncle was the first boy Pacey to pass on the name and his first child was a boy, so this is the first great-grandchild to pass on the Pacey name, which is a strong family name! :) I can't wait to see pictures of Thomas and will hold off traveling to see him as with the sickness of the season, I'd much rather enjoy his pictures and not worry about spreading any germs!

And, finally, please continue to pray for my friend that is expecting twin boys! She is seeing the specialist in Topeka several times and will be going through treatments to make sure the twins grow at a good rate rather than one growing more than the other. Please continue to pray for her that her and the babies will be as healthy and strong as possible!
