Thank you soooo much for the well-wishes. I am starting to feel better already. I have quite the cocktail of medicines, but I think they are starting to help, or at least I'm hopeful! :) I have the next few days scheduled with posts so you don't miss any part of our lives, I mean, so I can have a reason to post some pictures of the loves of my life (my boys).
Today was the most awful day ever! I woke up and checked my bank account, only to figure out that something was screwed up with it. (If you know me, you know I budget EVERY SINGLE PENNY and check our accounts several times a day, so was wondering what was going on. Thankfully, though it was just a bank mishap and straigtened out by the time I logged on at 8:00am!) I let Suzie in from outside and sure enough, it'd rained out last night. She jumped through our back room and right onto my clean (but unfolded) laundry on the back room couch! UGH! I went to wake Logan up and he'd peed out since he doesn't wear a pull-up anymore at night. (RARELY ever has accidents- just had to be today!) He growled at me and said, "Mommy, you don't wake up sleepy boys!" (I was thinking- I know what you mean!) Then he didn't know why his bed was wet because he insisted he didn't ever have accidents. I didn't even have energy to argue this morning- just tore the sheets off and up to start the laundry. I woke Malachi up and he'd had a BM in his diaper sometime last night, so his entire room STUNK not to mention it was crusted onto him and took about a whole container of wipees to remove! Got him dressed and then he puked all over me! His coughing has been so bad that he coughs until he pukes, and yes, it IS puke and yes, I about puke too! Finally we got out the door, a tad late, but still doing fine for time. The boys did great the rest of the way to school (amazing- I know!) but when I got to school and tried to log onto my computer- it had CRASHED!!!! Seriously - what is it with me and computers! I had my classroom completely cleaned, boxed up and knew that since I didn't feel good, I could work at my computer all day, sorting and arranging files and burning them onto disks so I could use them this summer. Well, my computer had other plans to start its summer vacation a bit early. Maybe its a sign that I'm not supposed to work on a ton of stuff over the summer! UGH!
Anyway, on to our scheduled posting. Enjoy! :)
A friend of Shawn's asked him if he wanted this. He had no idea what she was talking about, so shrugged around about it. His co-worker told him YES you do want that so look what we ended up with:
It is supposed to have sprinklers on it as well, but of course, the first night he brought it home he just HAD to air it up to play with it. I'm quite aware that I might have only birthed 3 small children, but somewhere in that mad rush, my husband became just as much as a little child!!!! :) It doesn't take long at all to air up and the boys were just plain content to play with it without the water.
Logan looked on the box of the happy kids playing and said, "Mom it says, No shoes & No Glubs!!!" :) He certainly loves the red gloves!
Malachi was having a ball. Not so sure he'll like this once its full with water since his bathtimes are again starting to be a hassle, even in the small kitchen sink.
In reference to my title, I'm beginning to wonder what to do about Zachary's birthday that will be here soon (the end of July to be exact). For his first 5 years, we tried to have just mainly family and close friends. Zachary wasn't old enough to be in school yet and really have "friends" and I'm not a huge party-thrower, so having just family and friends was more comfortable and meaningful. We thought that after age 5 (he'll soon be 6- weep, weep!), we would start just inviting friends and stop making family feel so obligated to attend. However, since Zachary doesn't go to school around here, I'm doubting any of his school friends (who I don't really know anyway) would be up for coming to a party. And, his friends here, a few that he does have never invited him to anything, so I'm wondering if maybe that's a hint???? We tried the friend and family idea last year and I'm not quite sure we had enough "entertainment" for all the kiddos. And, I'm not a huge fan of spending a truckload of money for a celebration. While we certainly are very blessed to have been given one more year with our precious children, I don't think it calls for spending money wastefully.
We want to do something for Zachary's birthday, but are just not sure yet what to do. If it were my choice, I'd leave it the same and invite those people that are most cherished in our lives and his- our close friends and relatives. However, I hate for people to think he's much to old for a birthday party or feel like they are obligated to come or worse yet, to come and bring a gift (I hate that part of the birthday parties!). So, suggestions???? Ideas???? No themes please- as you might notice, those drive me CRAZY, even when they aren't my own! :) And, when you send me your thoughts/comments, include the price you charge for party-planning because right now, I'm not feeling up to partying anytime soon! :) haha
