Moving On

I want to first start by saying Sunday was a WOW day for us. We've been praying about our decision to move out of the country possibly and go into missionary work. In case you missed that, check out this post. Well. . . . God is speaking to us. . . . quite bluntly. Its hard to even admit how clear of a sign He gave us and of course we'll await where he sends us next, but for sure, we will still be pursuing missions. Here's how we know:

When we were at this concert, and met a kind lady, which was no fluke accident, she told us that we really needed to take a class called "Perspectives" that explained worldly missions in a better sense and prepared you for your purpose should you actually go on missions. She said, "surely a town the size of Manhattan would have it, but usually they are held in much larger cities." Well . . . . we kinda put that advice to the back of our minds as we were so caught off-guard with how purposeful it was that God put her in our lives. We have been diligently praying and asking God for guidance, not knowing what His answer will be or even when we will recieve it.

Well. . . . Sunday morning I woke up with kidneys ON FIRE! They hurt SOOOOO bad. I've never had that effect after my IV treatment, but I'd been up all night in pain. So, going to church was almost out of the question. But, Shawn told me that he wanted to try the church that our neighbors went to since we promised them quite a long time ago that we would try it. So, first of all- not in a mood to go to church, but reciting healing scriptures to ward off the pain that my kidneys were in. Amazingly, the pain subsided, we actually got out the door EARLY and to the church. We were actually scheduled to go home for a family get together and celebration at my home church, but nixed those plans after my rough night. So, there really was not a great reason we just woke up and happened to decide to go to a completely new church. However, in the bulletin was an excerpt about an upcoming class called "Perspectives" and it starts January 11th! I looked it up online and it was ONLY offered at this particular church in Manhattan! Shawn and I looked at each other and then just smiled like a kid knowing your Father is speaking directly to you. It couldn't have been more clear of a sign!

So, where do we go from here????? We can only continue to pray and read the scripture to let God guide us as He has so far. We do plan to take the course starting in January, which would mean I will be in my last semester of my master's program, my final weeks of my ELL endorsement classes, and this new class for Shawn and I. WOW! Thankfully God is restoring my strength and health and I'm so thankful for that. The prayers and support have been so appreciated and wonderful.

Tomorrow I will post about specific prayer concerns for Zachary because this is a journal about the goings-ons of my boys. Shawn and I are thinking more and more that a solution to his problems would be fixed if we moved away from the pressures of this society and the materialism of this culture we live in.

PLEASE make sure you are informed and VOTE VOTE VOTE tomorrow! I'm praying I make it out the door early enough to get there before work, but might have to wait until after work. Regardless- we're for sure going! Its our Christian duty.
