Zachary- Racecars for Superstars

Since we moved to Hays, I've gotten Zachary signed up for Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Since there aren't many "Big Brothers" that have signed up, he's on the waiting list. While waiting, he still gets to participate in the neat programs they put on. This year, they had a fundraiser for people to raise money to race cars. Zach was allowed to ride in the "parade" of Chevy trucks to display the top sponsors for the races. The race experience was brand new to us and we did not plan accordingly. I had NO ear-buds, but thankfully they sold some there for us. Also, the dirt/dust was awful, but otherwise, the weather was beautiful and I'm glad I got to spend some quality time with my buddy.

Zach liked to watch the school buses race. It was interesting but they aren't as fast or clumsy as the other races.

After it got a little to chilly for me, Zach said it was okay to head home. He'd like to experience the races again, but I'm not sure it's my cup of tea. It might be a dad and sons type of event! :)

Malachi and his Disgusting Interests

Malachi saved my life yesterday. He kept me from having a heart attack when I was working in the garage. See, we have a piece of old carpet on the floor. Its nothing special but still works good to have in the garage. Well, he noticed something "dangerous." I didn't really trust his sight-seeing skills but upon closer inspection, I did freak out a little bit.
Photobucket
There was a GIGANTIC spider!!!!!!
Photobucket
Can you see it??? Tell me how incredibly hard that is to see since it blends into the shaggy carpet!? YUCK!!!!!
Photobucket
The nice mom I am, I collected it for him.
Photobucket
We had it to inspect and stare at until Daddy got home. He let it go in the grass, after a tiny melt-down by Malachi. Finally Malachi understood that he might see his "friend" again someday. :( I certainly hope I don't see him again!!!!

2012 Kansas State Fair

Saturday, we decided to take a trip to the State Fair in Hutchinson. We try to make the trip each year, but it seems like it's only been every other year lately. With my health, we are trying to make the most of experiences with the boys and while I knew what would await me after the trip, I knew that I can't just hold back on these times with my family. The weather was beautiful!!! Also, we met some of my family there so the boys were excited to see them as well. Here are a few of the pictures from the day. He went with Uncle Rylan to hang out for the day. I'm sure he had a LOT more fun not being dragged around with us and his little brothers! :)

Welcome to Pack 131!

The boys are entering their Wolf (Logan) and Weblos1 (Zach) years of cubscouts! They are enjoying it so far and we are just getting situated in a pack here that has mostly kids from their school. Boyscouts has been so good for our kids so far and I hope they continue to learn and enjoy it. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket If you'd like to help support them in their cub scouts this year, please consider buying some popcorn. Most of the sale from the popcorn goes directly back to our pack as well as sponsoring our boys for camp! It helped us a lot last year with having 2 boys in scouts now. If you'd like to, you can email me: schance@hotmail.com

Zach is suffering - again ;(

Poor babe has had terrible allergies despite all our efforts to help him with meds etc. ;( today was ag day at school so I dosed him up with Claritin and benedryl. Well- they called me to tell him that his poor eye was getting worse. ;( I went to school to pick him up early and we took him to the urgent care doctor. He was diasnosed with the bacterial form of pink eye. He's miserable so will be missing school tomorrow to rest.... Unlike what he thinks- playing video games all day! ;)

Same time of year, he's ALWAYS sick: http://schancefamily.blogspot.com/2008/09/longford-rodeo-fun-2008.html

Rodeo Weekend

This was the weekend of the Longford Rodeo. We LOVE the rodeo and hardly ever miss it. We usually go on Saturday so that we can see the parade before the rodeo. Brienna was with us since her parents went to the home k-state game.

My boys were thrilled to get a picture together! Can't you see the excitement on Malachi's face!?

They got a lot of candy at the parade.

They also watched Grandpa Darrell drive the new firetruck.

Lindsay and Kyle joined us. We were glad to see them.

Zach was also so happy to see his best friend.

Malachi liked to check out the bulls.

Before we left the farm, Malachi wanted to go check the cows with Grandpa Darrell.

We stopped by Bennington to get a picture of all the Chance grandchildren.
