Milford Sock Hop

School is still fresh on our minds and with that is the Milford Sock Hop that was held at the end of the year.

While Zach isn't so sure about dancing or having a "groove", Logan is a dancing fool.

It was fun to watch the kids run around, dance, and try to have some "moves." :)

Shawn even danced a little bit too. Interesting side note- Shawn and I have never danced together. :(

The girls were WAY more dressed up than the boys. Isn't that how it usually goes! :)

URGH. . . .

Well, its been that type of day. I just wrote a lot about our day for a blog post and tried to publish it, but it was deleted. URGH! So, here are the pictures and I will type more later. I'm off to bed, where I've been most of the day. Today has been really rough.

Lazy Evenings

I love lazy evenings. We have done so much in this beautiful weather we've been having. Tonight, Logan really wanted to go visit someone. . . he didn't really care who he went to visit, but just packed up his things and started to call people to see if there were any takers. Most of the time people had plans or the travel was too far, so he disolved into a bundle of tears for about a minute until we bribed him with movie night.

Logan is a hugger. He hugs EVERYONE. Some prefer that he not hug them, which actually is a hard habit for him to break, as we've come to discover. :) Today as we were arriving at WalMart, we were greeted by "the greeter" and Logan ran over to give her a hug. I was mildly embarrassed and humbled at the same time. My little boy is sooo full of compassion.

Zach was practicing batting tonight with Shawn and our neighbor. He's getting better gradually and will do great this season.

This wasn't the best picture, but it was one of the only action shots I got. I really want to learn how to use my camera better this summer. Don't expect many edited pictures though. :)

Jeremiah- 3 months

Tonight I got the priveledge of watching Jeremiah. He is 3 months old today! My friend Valerie has been an amazing blessing in my life and a terrific friend. Her baby, Jeremiah, is such a doll. He is precious. I love watching him grow up and hope that my boys will set a good example for him as he grows. Right now, they like teaching him all the gross stuff boys do like get dirty, find icky animals, etc.

Graduation from ESU- Master Teacher Reading Specialist

After about 4 years of slow progress and hard work, I finally earned my Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist! I had debated many times over the past semester whether I should "walk" for graduation, but was so thankful that I did go through with it. My family was there to "support" me and it was an overwhelming day. I tried to pick out picture-nice clothing for the boys, but it was so freezing (literally) that morning that we didn't worry about that. Here are the pictures from that day a few weekends ago.

As my kids hold my fake diploma I think how they truly do deserve credit for their countless hours that they sacrificed to help me study. I finally can play with them now and go to their events. I am loving the "free" time that I have found. Since they rode to graduation with my parents, they had to ride with them to lunch after watching me graduate. Malachi would NOT let go of my "book." He wanted to keep reading it. :)

Here was the "hooding." I really should have chosen the masters program that got a pink hood. Those were sweet looking. Mine is ESU gold.

Shawn took a TON of pictures. It was FREEZING that morning.

The boys kept waving at me and making a scene.

Brienna also made the trip. That also made my day special.

My terrific parents helped so much throughout my program with the boys and helping me find time to study. I owe a lot to my family and look forward to the time I can give back to them through serving and being with them.

Summer Haircuts

Sunday, after we arrived home from western KS, our neighbor helped Shawn give the boys their summer hair cuts. Zach wanted a mohawk so bad, so we thought we'd let him do it now that school is out.

Malachi just got a complete buzz cut. He has Shawn's hair line so more than likely will bald early. Thankfully, Shawn has such a positive self-image, I'm hoping that will pass on to Malachi.

And, last (for a reason. . . of embarrassment) is Logan's cut. He wanted "party and business" so he got it. . . . for about 12 hours. :) I had Shawn cut the rest of it off Monday morning after we had all the boys here. It was just too much to look at. I'm sorry, but we can't let him have that kind of a mullet right now. He was ok getting it trimmed though, so that's fortunate.

We were dog-sitting for my little sister since she flew down to Texas to see her husband. Most people would never realize that Suzie and Bella were from the same litter of puppies. They are both quite unique and special.

Stay safe today from the severe weather and hope my teacher friends are enjoying their start of the summer!
