Pacey Christmas

Growing up, the "Pacey Christmas" was always one of my favorite Christmas traditions. Besides a few Christmases of being ill, I was always there with my family- all 100+ of them Christmas evening. It was such a fun time growing up. There were cousins that I grew up with as well as cousins that I only saw this once a year. Since my grandparents had 13 kids, we had LOTS of cousins to play with. I'm very thankful that my sons got to experience that wonderful celebrating at the Pacey household before Grandma and Grandpa passed on.

Now, thankfully, we still have a Pacey Christmas celebration, but it is not at the homestead and it usually is not nearly as many people. It still is wonderful to go and its something I want my boys to grow up participating in, understanding how important family is and how great they are. I am so priveleged on my side to have such a supportive, close family. With some of the recent happenings, my kids will not know some family members and so I'm so thankful for the support and presence my family has in their lives. It certainly is not EVERYTHING, but it sure is SOMETHING.

We had the Pacey Christmas down by Hutchinson at my uncle and aunts house. Since Shawn was on-call, I rode down with my parents, who helped tremendously with the boys! :) The boys love visiting Jim & Tiffany's house. They live in the country, with beautiful scenery and lots of "boy" things to do. Malachi loved all the farm toys.

Brady was great help this day.

It was Miss Brienna's first introduction to many of the relatives on this side.

Malachi found some pink bubble wrap from one of the gifts.

Uncle Dale spoils the boys. He had 4 boys of his own, so he kinda understands the chaotic life I live! :)

With the year coming to a close and the holiday vacation also ending, I'm reminising over the year 2010. Many things happened and many things did not. So much happened in the year 2010. I'll try to blog tomorrow about our New Year's resolutions- even though I sorta don't believe in those. I'll also have a post reminising on 2010 and all that was major in that year. Hope you have a very safe New Year's Eve and are looking forward to the greatness of 2011!

Mr Strider

This morning, we all slept in. It was FABULOUS!!!!! I'm taking it easy, catching up on some housework, or I mean, reading some blogs I haven't had time to read for awhile. This blog: http://iammommy.typepad.com/i_am_baker/ is sooo cool! Its where I found the idea for the rainbow cake. It never looked as cool as her cakes, but I think it did turn out pretty neat.

This year, Malachi got a strider bike for Christmas. We'd been told about it last year, but thought he was a little too young still maybe to ride it safely. We still need to get him a helmet. But, so far, he LOVES his bike! He takes off on it and goes and goes and goes! He's even starting to lift his feet so he's correctly balancing himself. I think by springtime he'll be riding a real bike (with pedals) before his brothers do. So far we're really impressed with the strider bike. It soooo lightweight that Malachi can pick it up and move it where he wants to. Its perfect for him and he LOVES it!

Logan got the DSI (Nintendo gaming system) that he was asking Santa for.

With the DSI systems, the boys are pretty much oblivious to anything else happening around them!

Malachi liked Grandma's teddy bear.
Photobucket
He also enjoyed an orange with Uncle Rylan. He was soooo patient while waiting for the oranges.

Today, we're going to have another playdate- at our house though and then have a movie evening. This break has been so relaxing and restful. Soon it will be time to hit the grindstone again.

Miss Brienna's First Christmas

This Christmas was even more enjoyable getting to spend it with this precious:
Photobucket
She smiles a LOT! Between Grandma and aunts, she got her fair share of spoiling. I think her mommy is paying for it this week, not that she minds it too much.

All the boys were causing ruckus and noise Christmas evening, so she was a bit fussy.
Photobucket
She got to meet her Great Grandpa Everett for the first time.
Photobucket
My mom kept ahold of her pretty tightly. It was hard to pry her away.

She has a pouty face, but I know she loves me still. :)

Tarin and Malachi both wanted to hold her a LOT. They kept asking to hold her over and over. So, we let them both hold her.
Photobucket
They didn't seem too phased by her crying. :) I love this picture:

Tarin's going to have his own little sister soon.

As I mentioned, the boys were causing an awful ruckus. It seems like they always want to tackle and doggy-pile.

Brienna just slept or fussed through most of it. Isn't she precious?

Today we did a lot of cleaning, putting things away, cleaning, playing together, cleaning, and a bit of resting. Its been a good Christmas break so far. I keep remembering back to last year and am so very blessed with health this year.
